Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece of ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and a dash of pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and water. Set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: In a large wok or skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until vibrant green and just tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In the same wok, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated flank steak. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked broccoli to the pan with the steak. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli, tossing everything together to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot over cooked rice.
