Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

2 bell peppers (any color), sliced (red and green for a colorful dish)

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the ingredients: Begin by slicing the bell peppers, chopping the onion, and mincing the garlic and ginger. This will make your cooking process smooth and efficient.

Cook the turkey: In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Add vegetables: Stir in the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger, cooking until the onion becomes translucent, about 3 minutes. Then, add the sliced bell peppers and sauté for another 5 minutes until they soften.

Season the mixture: Pour in the soy sauce and hoisin sauce, mixing thoroughly to coat all the ingredients. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes at this stage. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Finish with sesame oil: Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fry and give it one last stir. Taste and adjust seasoning, if needed.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot over a bed of jasmine rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
