Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red chili paste)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 green onions, finely sliced

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup steamed broccoli (or any vegetable of choice)

Optional: Fried egg for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, gochujang, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a spatula to break it apart as it browns, cooking for about 5–7 minutes until fully cooked.

Add the Sauce: Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat if necessary, and pour the sauce over the beef. Stir to thoroughly combine and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Rice: While the beef is finishing, prepare your rice according to package directions. You can use leftover rice for a quicker meal.

Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice into bowls. Top each bowl with a generous amount of the Korean ground beef mixture, added steamed broccoli, and a sprinkle of sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Optional Egg Topping: For an extra indulgent touch, fry an egg to your liking (sunny-side up or soft-boiled) and place it on top of each bowl.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve hot, and enjoy the wonderful flavors of this Korean-inspired dish!
