Ingredients

4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Peaches: Start by washing the peaches. Slice them in half and remove the pits. If you prefer, you can peel the peaches, but leaving the skin adds texture.

Make the Coating: In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Toss the peach halves in this mixture to ensure they are well coated.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the unsalted butter over medium heat. Allow it to melt and start bubbling slightly.

Pan-Fry the Peaches: Once the butter is hot, carefully place the coated peach halves cut-side down in the skillet. Cook them for about 3-4 minutes without moving them, until they develop a beautiful golden-brown caramelized color.

Add Flavor: Flip the peaches over and add the vanilla extract and lemon juice to the pan. Let the peaches cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are tender and infused with the flavors. The juices should start to bubble, creating a delicious sauce.

Serve: Transfer the peaches to a serving plate. Drizzle the pan sauce over them. If desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
