Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

Olive oil for grilling

Burger buns

Your choice of toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Use your hands to mix all the ingredients thoroughly until just combined. Do not over-mix to keep the burgers tender.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1 inch thick.

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat. Add a little olive oil to prevent sticking.

Once the grill is hot, place the chicken patties on it. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then carefully flip them over and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown.

If you’d like melted cheese on top, place a slice of white cheddar on each patty during the last minute of cooking, covering the grill to help it melt.

Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Assemble your burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of the buns. Add your favorite toppings and condiments before placing the top bun on.

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious white cheddar and spinach chicken burgers!
